The Takayama Scorpion is a legendary board from renowned shaper Donald Takayama. The original Scorpion had a more pronounced tail that asserted a better pivot point and turned the scorpion into a performance based board. With the Scorpion 2, the tail has been more rounded and less pronounced, which adds homogeneity with the front of the board, great for gaining speed and stability!
The Scorpion 2 is a versatile surfboard that is perfect for surfers of all levels looking to progress. This board is a real gem, allowing hang fives and hang ten, despite its size. It is suitable for surfing in all conditions ranging from small soft waves to deeper waves.
The volume of the board is well distributed, with an additional touch at the level of the torso bringing stability and comfort in the oar as in sliding. The rocker is very flat, making your paddling easy and allowing you to gain speed to take on the softest waves.
The Scorpion 2 is a mini-longboard, with generous volume and a longboard shape at the front for powerful paddling and easy take-offs. The reinforced 60/40 rails offer more forgiveness in small waves, while the pintail provides support in more powerful waves. The fins are fixed on 5 plugs (4 FCS2 + US box) to surf in thruster (3 fins), single (1 fin) or quad (4 fins).
The Scorpion 2 is available in three sizes to suit different builds and surfing preferences:
- 5'10" x 21.0" x 2.6" - 38.0L
- 6'4" x 21.4" x 2.7" - 43.0L
- 6'10" x 22.0" x 2.8" - 49.0L
The board's Tuflite construction consists of a molded EPS foam core, wood veneer, E-glass and epoxy resin. This construction guarantees an ultra-resistant board to shocks and dents, which will accompany you during many surf sessions.
The Takayama Scorpion 2 is a high-performance, fun and playful board that will give you great sensations on the waves.
